Laos, the lost country, is an undeveloped and undiscovered place. It has long been called the Land of a Million Elephants. Laos’ premier destination is Luang Prabang, a town of great historical and artistic interest. This former royal capital has remained almost unchanged for the last century and boasts a fascinating array of shimmering golden temples, historic monuments, and French colonial houses. Luang Prabang earned the status of a World Heritage Site in 1995. It is an exceptionally charming city, considered a jewel with a timeless atmosphere rarely found anymore.
